6.5 HP Briggs and Stratton powered mower. It ate the plastic bit between the pull cord and the flywheel on the top so I replaced it. Pulled the plug and spun the blade and it felt a bit chunky. Put the plug back in and gave it some pulls. Still a little chunky and then I think it broke the plastic again. I wonder if I might have a bent valve or something. Thoughts?

Edit: that is a turbine powered mower. Not mine.

Not really familiar with B&S that old, but most of them don’t have overhead valves so it would be pretty hard to bend them.

I’m thinking along the same lines of traitor joe.

Flatheads don’t normally have bent valve issues.

Can’t really think of any reason to have it pull rough though. Unless there’s a piston/head clearance issue.

Shared to Pull Stary My Heart. Might find some help there. That thing looks more like a floor polisher than a mower.
